Help Patients Apply

We feel compelled to tell you we are inundated with patients who are looking for help.

Across Canada doctors are realizing the side-effect free benefits of medical marijuana and prescribing their patients this remedy with great success. More research is being done on long term pain sufferers. More studies are proving the use of marijuana greatly reduces the secondary symptoms and side-effects seen in other patients who are taking opiate or other addictive pharmaceuticals.

For the sake of our patients we strongly encourage you to be open to learning first hand the medical benefits of marijuana. If you sign the MMAR forms thus allowing your patients to try medical marijuana as an alternative you are helping them into the only legal program that allows them to be exempt from the criminal code of Canada for their prescribed amount. This exemption is valid for one year. Many doctors fear Health Canada and opt to only sign forms for compassion clubs, however this does not exempt your patient from possession charges and they may be harassed or arrested.

We appreciate your medical decisions and expertise but it's important you know doctors are prescribing medical marijuana for symptoms as mild as stress and anxiety whereas others won't prescribe for conditions as serious as MS or HIV/AIDS. We'd like more doctors across this country to learn about medical marijuana so there can be more consistency in prescribing it and people can be given the right to choose the medicine that best suits their condition.

If patients have legal access through the MMAR program to use organizations like ours who deal with sufferers of many different medical conditions every day, they could benefit from one of our 400 strains of marijuana with varying cannabinoid, turpene, and essential oil profiles. Through a short survey we've been able to inform patients of what strains might best target their condition. We can't provide this service to your patients if you don't help them first.

Once you've fully discussed the benefits of medical marijuana as a possible remedy for your patient, your task is to help them determine a prescription size and complete the forms provided by Health Canada. Depending on which category they fall into, you will have to help fill in either Form B1 or B2 and sign the back of their passport photos.

If you are a doctor who has seen the success of patients who use marijuana for relief please take the time to help them fill in the forms and allow your patient to have safe access to legal medicine. We recommend you read the Applicant's Guide document and download all pertinent forms for yourself and your patients.

The most common complaint about the government program that we receive is from Canadians who want to use cannabis legally for medical purposes, yet are unable to find a doctor or specialist to complete the necessary paperwork.
